Should Animal Testing Be Justifiable Or Morally Wrong

Administering different types of drugs, infecting innocent and defenseless animals with diseases, poisoning, implantations, and causing brain damage are just some of the many horrifying elements of what animal experimentation truly is. Cosmetics, cleaning supplies, and personal care products are only a small fraction of the many products used frequently by people that are tested regularly on animals for research-based and scientific studies. Although some may be completely unaware of, we use a number of these products more often than we would like to think. There are people who view animals as innocent creatures who cannot possibly fend for themselves, yet there are also others who view animals as testing material for human benefit. The†¦show more content†¦Not only these types of animals in the United States, but others around the world undergo extreme pain and suffering as the result of â€Å"advancing† scientific and medical research and knowledge. These animals ar e commonly subjected to force feeding, food and/or water deprivation, physical restraint, and infliction of burns and wounds. Therefore, should animal testing for all purposes be banned? Some cannot help but feel extremely sympathetic for these animals that are being mistreated brutally on a daily basis. They endure and are forced to face inhumane and extremely cruel tests and research often every day. It is even likely that they can spend their entire lives in a cage, from when they are birthed to eventually when they are either killed off or die of intentional causes due to research and experimentation by scientists. Others claim that animals have no sense of self and emotion, as humans do. These people also claim animals do not feel any emotions, pleasure, pain, and suffering like we humans do so it is extremely justified to test on animals. As of now, there are many animals waiting to die in confined and cold cages waiting for the next experiment to begin. For this reason, animal testing for all purposes should be banned. Animals have a range of emotions and can feel extreme pain and suffering just as humans do. A scientist may be unaware and may not realize when an animal is in severe pain and/or distress (Rowan 89). With the suffering that
